I live in a 1930 home. The upstairs pipes are from the 1960’s and needed to be replaced. Beacon sent out “Gary” . He came and explained 3 options for repairs and warned me what many other plumbers may say in the hopes of this job. The next estimate I had said just what Gary explained.

My husband and I went with Beacons Plumbing requesting Gary with 30 years experience . Gary’s work is impressive; Clean, professional, friendly, and he cleaned up after the job was done.

To Everyone,

“Plumber!”  A single word that can strike fear and anxiety in any unfortunate individual who needs immediate help.  I recently had that exact experience when, what I thought would be just a simple toilet unclog, quickly turned into a 9-day, incredibly expensive, major renovation of our sewer system!
A key player in helping to mitigate my pain and establish my trust that the project was proceeding prudently and honestly, was Beacon’s employee, Brom Meneese.  He was the first of a half-dozen Beacon plumbers that I would eventually get to know extremely well on this project!  I am now convinced that Brom proceeded prudently at each step, and did so with an approach that made me feel as though he actually wanted to solve my problem rather than to take unfair advantage of our tough situation and my family.

I was right there beside Brom the entire time, asking him questions and painfully authorizing escalation after escalation in the scope of work.  I could quickly see the rapidly increasing number of my dollars going straight down the drain!  Not a good feeling at all.  I have a fairly deep technical understanding and, while I have been burned by “the man behind the curtain” so many times, it didn’t take long for me to refreshingly realize that Brom was both sincere in his approach and was offering me wise, incremental options to at least help control the inevitable major financial damage.

Over the next several days, I spent all day, every day, on the job site interacting with Brom and watching his work closely.  Not only did I personally learn a lot, but what I came to see in Brom is his strong potential for being a leader that can be trusted by both his customer . . . and . . . by his employer!  As an employer myself for over 30 years, I watched how he interacted so well and so positively with the rest of his crew.  I repeatedly noted that Brom’s suggestions and his decisions were thoughtful and well-educated.  I could see that he was sincerely working hard to find the best solution without wreaking financial havoc.  For that, my family and I are extremely grateful.

While I won’t mention any other names here, another Beacon plumber that arrived on the scene demonstrated an amazing but very disturbing antithesis from Brom’s positive approach.  He actually discouraged Brom’s attempts to mitigate the scope of work and instead encouraged him to jump straight into an exponentially more expensive solution!  His attempts at quickly running up my already sky high bill were an extreme turn-off for me and I found myself actually resenting his mere presence on the job site!  I am so grateful that he was not the Beacon employee that was sent to help me!

The bottom line is simple.  While in the end, our bill painfully turned out to be more than the cost of a low-end, brand new car, it could have been (quite needlessly) much worse!  I place a large portion of the credit in Brom’s hands for doing the right thing for both his customer . . .  and for his employer!  The good news is that his skillful and honest approach has resulted in a much greater return for Beacon Plumbing by far, compared to wrongly running up our bill and then investing those additional dollars in iffy advertising.  I rarely make recommendations to friends but Brom has genuinely earned my trust and respect and I will be delighted to pass his name with confidence to my best friends!  In fact, I have already done exactly that with a very close friend who actually has 9 (yes, that’s nine) bathrooms in his home!!!!!

In this day, where so many people go all out to disrespectfully and wrongly gouge and cheat others in any way they can, it is so refreshing to meet someone who truly gets it!  Someone who knows what it means to leave the world better than they find it!  Someone who knows what great Karma is all about.  As they say, “What goes around  . . . !“   Personally, I’ll hire Brom again in a heartbeat.  He has deservingly earned my trust and respect!

My customer feedback to Beacon Plumbing?  You’d better do everything you can to hang onto Brom as great employees don’t come around every day.  And while you’re at it, that man truly deserves a well-earned raise!
