1. Last night, I thought with all the rain, it was funny that my hillside house’s sump pump hadn’t kicked in. Sure enough, I went into my basement to discover that with a dead sump pump, groundwater was oozing in.
It’s 11:30pm, what do I do ?
We had a Beacon Plumbing advertising magnet on the side of our fridge, so I called them.
Immediately, a professional picked up and forwarded my service request to a technician already in the field.
Within five minutes the tech called me to confirm my request. Within one hour he was at my house. Then a mere two hours later, a new sump pump was humming away, with disaster averted. I am still breathing many sighs of relief.
I felt their fee, which included a automatic “show-up charge” of $100 was probably reasonable (any repair expense seems spendy).
Beacause Beacon got things fixed so quickly, no damage occured. Their technician was a really cool guy, very reassuring and patient. Obviously, he knew what he was doing and worked quickly. Beacon also provided me a reference for a tech who specialized in water drying services, but luckily I will not need.
A heartfelt thanks for a great job.

2. I had a leaking/running eco-friendly toilet. Beacon showed up around 30 minutes after I called, was very friendly and helpful. Not only did they fix the problem, but they explained how I could fix it myself if this ever happens again in the future. He showed me everything — was very patient and helpful.
The plumber I had was Mike V. I’d recommend him.
The price of it all seem a tad high — 199 at the end of it all. But the service was quality and friendly so in the end I’m happy.

3. After a bad experience with “Good Guy Plumbing”, I tried Beacon Plumbing and had a wonderful experience.
They were able to quickly book me, they called ahead, arrived exactly on time, were polite, explained the issue, quoted me a decent price, and had were done within one hour.
All and all, a great experience.

4. My pipes froze this winter and after four days of calling every plumber I could, the only ones that actually showed up were the guys (Mike & Mike) from Beacon. They got to work straight away unfreezing my hot water pipe, but what I didn’t know was that there was a 3″ long burst in the side of the pipe. So once they heated the lines, it exploded. All through my ceiling, onto the carpet, just.. water everywhere. Their quick response was the difference in only having to replace the ceiling and insulation, and having to replace all of the carpet on top of that. They ended up staying for over three hours, well into the wee hours of the night, and even tried to calm me down when I was nearing a complete panic attack. Hey, why don’t you watch a pipe explode in YOUR ceiling and see how you feel?
After everything was said and done, and I took a handful of xanax, we sat down to figure out the price. I knew, going in, that it was way more then it should have been, but then again.. that’s what insurance is for, right? They went above and beyond, by calling in a favor to a flood damage company, convincing them to find time to come out and see what needed to be replaced ASAP.. when the normal wait time was 3-4 days.
I couldn’t thank them enough for a job well done, going above and beyond to help me through a really tough situation. With that said, I don’t think I’d be calling them for a small job because of the inflated prices, but if I ever have that big of an issue again, they’ll be on my list.

5. This is not a review about Beacon Plumbing ‘per’ se’ – its about their advertising.
It seems that anytime I’m ‘freaking out’ in the car, either on the phone w/ a dispenser of freaky news, or in combing over a freaky decision in my head…i look over and that beacon van drives by…”STOP FREAKIN, CALL BEACON”…its great. The universes way of sayin’…stop freakin’, dude!

6. Outstanding, Beacon Plumbing! They took care that my job was done right and were top notch. I have had several plumbers over the years and Beacon Plumbing was by far the most experienced and professional. I know any plumbing in my future will be done by Beacon Plumbing. Great Job

7. Talk about poor timing, when it’s supposed to be really cold this weekend, our furnace decides to take a little vacation. Blowing cold air, then hot…then really cold! I called the company who been servicing the furnace since its install in ’99. When the tech arrived, I initially felt he had no time for my questions – maybe because I’m a “girl” and why did I need to know these details. Anyways, after he spent some time one-on-one with the furnace, he told me that the circuit board needed to be replaced, but that he’d have to order one, and it could be “tomorrow or the next day”…and he’d be back to install it. Unable to provide me with a quote, he said he was going to leave the unit “like it is”… meaning disconnected — i.e. not working, i.e. no heat. Remember, it’s cold in here! When I asked why he said “because it will be ready for me just to install it”. So, when my better half came home, he was less than thrilled to find that we had no heat. At least, prior to the tech’s visit, the furnace worked part of the time. So…50 degrees inside…and cold. Gloves, hat, sweatshirt, socks…the works! After our experience, we felt strongly about not giving our business to a company that would leave us without heat. Company “A” now sent a different guy out to put the unit back together. Then I found Brian at Beacon! I have to say, if you’re looking for a very nice, knowledgeable, competent and thorough service man, one who will explain everything in a way you feel you actually understand it, then Brian is your guy. Same day service, he diagnosed the problem, and went over and above and disconnected the outside hose, tested the PSI, etc. And, it’s 6:30pm on a Friday night, when he’d rather be home with his family – he’s working away. So, if you’ve ever felt that you’d like to find that one guy (or gal) that you could count on to help you with your heating or plumbing needs – I highly recommend Brian at Beacon. You can read other reviews, but remember they do a large volume of business. Personally, I don’t think you’d ever go wrong with Beacon – I’d just recommend you ask for Brian! **sorry for the brevity of my review** 🙂
8. Recently, I called up Beacon Plumbing to take care of some repairs. They sent out Brian who fixed up everything as good as new. He was honest and trustworthy, and helped me get over my fear of plumbers. I would definitely call him for repairs in the future!

9. I needed a plumber and called Beacon Plumbing Heating and Mechanical. Two plumbers showed up in uniform and ready to get to work the same day I called. I didn’t call as an emergency, and I appreciate the same day service. They were knowledgeable and dealt with my issue very well. I will call them again when I need more plumbing service. Their office and the plumbers seemed well orgainzed.

10. I live in a 1930 home. The upstairs pipes are from the 1960’s and needed to be replaced. Beacon sent out “Gary” . He came and explained 3 options for repairs and warned me what many other plumbers may say in the hopes of this job. The next estimate I had said just what Gary explained.
My husband and I went with Beacons Plumbing requesting Gary with 30 years experience . Gary’s work is impressive; Clean, professional, friendly, and he cleaned up after the job was done.

11. I called Beacon after 3 other plumbers spec’d replacing a 120′ water main. I had around 20lbs of pressure, and a leak.
Beacon’s price came in the middle of the others, they were on the job promptly. They got the permit from the town, and had the job inspected, something the other three did not suggest. The main guy (Nate) and his assistant (Antonio) were polite, helpful, explained everything, even when there was issue with the code that needed tweaking.
They used trenchless technology, which kept them from having to dig up our whole 100′ garden area, only having to cut 5 holes and those were fairly small.
They went beyond, replacing an extra section of pipe and an exterior faucet, and added a valvue I asked about. They cleaned up after themselves, washed the mud off the driveway, and you would never know they were there except for a shiny new faucet, some pipe, and lots and lots of water pressure.
I was impressed that the owner Bill called me back to schedule the initial contact. I’m sure there is hot and cold experiences, but they came in $1000 less than South West, and did a great job.

12. Our furnace failed tonight and Beacon had Brian out within 1 hour. He figured out the issue quickly. We also had a plumbing issue and he was able to address that during the visit since he is a certified plumber as well. Brian was very friendly and efficient and a pleasure to work with. The price seemed a little steep but I was appreciative that Brian could take care of multiple issues in one visit. Thanks Brian!

13. I was very pleased when I called Beacon. I could not get any of the other plumbing companies to give the information I requested when I called. They were very friendly when I called and sent someone out right away. Nate came out to my house and gave me a reasonable price (had same thing done a few months back and it cost more by another company). He was very professional and did a great job.

14. We are very pleased and impressed with the quick response today. The plumber Bo was at our house within an hour. He was here for approx 2 hrs and found that a tree root had grown through the pipe outside our house. We will definitely call them again if we have problems!

15. Is a shame to see some of the poor reviews for Beacon because the experience I had today was no less than fantastic. Beacon is a member of two barter or trade organizations, one of Which is ITEX (International Trade Exchange). We used a combination of cash and barter to get a new furnace and coil (so we can add AC later) installed. I cannot say enough positive things about Dave A. and Mike R, not to mention Aharon, who stopped by to assist with a few duct modifications.
The installation is top notch and I would recommend these two installers to anyone, regardless of the price. As an architect, I am picky and they were very accommodating of my questions and concerns.
I wish I could upload a photo the installation is so neat and tidy!!

christinablack Rating ***** (5 stars) Jul 9, 2008 quick service at a fair price I think…. my septic overflowed into my basement and this all happened after hours! I thought for sure I would need to wait until the next Monday to get a reasonable rate to fix it. I called Beacon and they came right out to estimate the charge (well worth the $50 fee to come). I was pleasantly surprised by the estimate; hired them and they fixed the problem. The $50 fee for coming wasn’t charged either. I guess they only charge it if you don’t hire them.
Buffett lover Rating ***** Jun 9, 2010 Very Good Customer Service! We had an issue with Beacon but when we called them Patrick from customer service took care of us. Lots of companies provide good service but only a few really stepup when a customer has an issue. These guys did.

“I own stand in Pioneer square. Its a small space that is hard to access and we recently had a toilet problem. Our toilet was clogged by a customer and before we knew it the bathroom was flooded. I tried to take care of the problem myself but was not able to subdue the issue at hand. I decided to call Beacon because in the past they have been quick to show up when I used them for my home plumbing. They charged a show up fee but were kind to waive it once they serviced my toilet. They gave me some great recommendations and fixed my problem. I am glad I called Beacon Plumbing.”

1. Comments: I want to tell you how pleased I am with the service I have received from Jason as well as with the response from Beacon. I called on Dec. 27th because my furnace had stopped. Jason came that evening, determined that it was not cost effective to repair the furnace, helped us to choose the right one for our needs and had it installed and working the next day. He also discovered a leak in our water heater and again helped us to determine that it was more cost effective to replace it rather than repair it. We had a problem on Feb 2nd when we discovered a water leak from the furnace. He came out the same day and repaired the leaky seal at no cost. He is very knowledgable and personable and respectful and I would like to assure that he will be the person who comes to service my home if I have any further needs.
